Tyler Perry Has Adapted a Story That Aint His Own#
Six Triple Eight
I’ve just watched Tyler Perry’s The Six Triple Eight. It’s directed by Tyler Perry, written by Tyler Perry, and based on Fighting a Two-Front War by Kevin M. Hemel, and starring Kerry Washington, Ebony Obsidian, and some even opera is featured. It’s produced by Tyler Perry Studios and distributed by Netflix. So here is, I see the ratings, reviewers, what have reviewers said about this? Oh, I can’t see. Oh, critical reception, the aggregate on Rotten Tomatoes is 50%. 52% of 42 critics’ reviews are positive, with an average of 5.4 out of 10. Assigning the film a score of 51 out of 100, based on 14 critics, indicating mixed or average reviews. So here is my review. I’m going to review this using Psalms³, P-S-A-L-M³ Fractal Analysis. So, the first P fractal. All right. So, polyglot, plagiarism, provincialism. So, does it score a full three, or does it get less than three for this? So, he is African-American. This is a story of African-American women serving in the military, and he understood the language. He speaks the language, so he gets that for polyglot. Plagiarism, no plagiarism. He acknowledges the source material, and the source material is not a film. So, it was a literature, and he translates that into film, and so that transformation is valid. Provincialism, it is intrinsically an American story. It does not engage, it’s a World War II story, does not engage other nations at all. It’s just black women serving in the military, and so at least it goes beyond the African-American stories and engages the rest of America. They’re generals. There’s Elena Roosevelt. So, he gets a good solid three out of three here for the P. We’re going to go to the S. Sin, sacrifice, salvation. Well, the sin against black women in cinema is that they’re just not represented. So, he addresses that. The sacrifice, I don’t know of whom, of these women, it’s not really impressive in the way he’s related. There’s nothing impressive, or even on the side of the generals giving these black women a chance to serve, not very impressive. Salvation, yes, there was salvation at the end of the day. They were able to deliver way beyond the expectations. They were expected to fail. So, here is a score for sin, none for sacrifice, and one for salvation. So, that’s two out of three for the S cubed. Up to A cubed. Adrenaline, no point in the movie made my adrenaline rush, none whatsoever. Acetylcholine, nothing really sharpened my mind in here. Adenosine, nothing really, in terms of pacing, was very impressive. Nothing terrible, but nothing terribly impressive, too, in terms of pacing. So, I think he may get a straight zero for the A cubed. And for L3, I can’t remember when, but I laughed. Laughter. I laughed at some point, not many points, but I did laugh, and that’s good enough. Just once is good. Lamb, that’s supposed to be laughing at a diagnosis about something that’s absurd, and I can’t remember what was absurd, in terms of prescription. Now, in terms of the diagnosis, in terms of prescription, the lamb, the lamb of God, as a clear prescription, no crazy prescriptions are offered here, but I have nothing much to say there. And in terms of a unified whole, the US military, United States, I don’t know what, nothing really was achieved here, but I had laughter. So, for L cubed, I go one out of three. I score one out of three. And for M cubed, molecules, what molecules were excited beyond the A cubed? Were there any ideologies? Were there any, I don’t know, I just, I’m just trying to see, I can’t think of anything excited here. Anything in the realm of glutamate, noradrenaline, cortisol, in terms of stress, you know, melatonin, GABA, dopamine, I just can’t think of any. Oxytocin and endorphins, serotonin, nothing terribly compelling. There are attempts in the pretext of the previous relationship of one of the protagonists, but not impressive. Marks is the next M. Alienation, there was nothing very impressive in point of view of alienation. Yes, African American women are represented in the military, fine, but there’s nothing compelling. And in terms of meaningfulness, oh yes, definitely gets a score there. Black women represented in the military and being acknowledged for this actually happened. So, one out of three here. So, taken together, we have a solid three from the S, no, no, no, no, from the P, we have a solid three from the S, I believe we had a solid two, that makes it five. From the A, we have zero. From the L, we have one for laughter, so that’s six. From the M, we have one that is seven. So, that is seven out of, five times three, 15, seven out of 15, that gives us seven out of 15, gets us a 47%. Not very different from what the critics were saying, which is about five out of 10. His is 4.7 out of 10. So, that’s the score he gets. Very impressive by the Talapari standards.
